Topic 1: On-campus Employment Opportunities & the Application Process

At Washington University of Science and Technology, we provide on-campus employment opportunities for our students. Working on campus will allow our students to experience a U.S. workplace firsthand in addition to earning some money which undoubtedly will make your experience here more comfortable and pleasant.

To qualify, you must be a full-time student at WUST in good academic standing and have also met all your financial obligations. Generally, you must have studied for at least one quarter before you will be offered a job on campus. However, you can apply at any time. In addition to the necessary qualifications, we select candidates on a first-come first-served basis.

On-campus employment is typically one quarter in length including the time between quarters so other students will be able to enjoy the same opportunities.

If you are an F-1 student, you can work part-time up to 20 hours per week while you are studying, and full-time during breaks and/or while you are on leave. Please keep in mind a job on campus is the same as a job elsewhere. You need to fulfill your duties and responsibilities as a qualified employee.

Your job may be suspended or terminated if you have failed to remain in good standing as an F-1 student; and/or if you are unable to perform the duties and responsibilities as expected.

There are 7 to 8 positions available for on-campus employment per quarter which will be made available on our website 2 to 4 weeks before the next quarter, so we encourage you to apply early.
